Jin Shin Jyutsu is an ancient form of a Japanese healing method that helps in balancing the emotions by stimulation of specific points on the hands. After falling into relative obscurity it has been rediscovered in the early 1900, and brought back to life by Master Jiro Murai. He started using it to treat an illness which the doctors diagnosed as terminal. After winning the battle, he dedicated his life to research of this technique.
Just take the finger associated with the organ you need to act on, hold it with the other hand wrapping the fingers around it and press it for several minutes(3-5 minute). During that time, you should breathe evenly and deeply. Concentrate on the inhales and exhales. Massaging each finger of the hand, you can achieve general harmonization of your body, and will also unblock the energy which got stuck along the pathways, i.e. the affected organs.
Today it stands as an equal partner among the ranks of alternative medicine. It involves simple acupressure of both hands, often referred to as ‘jumper cables’, and works with a set of 26 points called Safety Energy Locks (SEL). It relies on the principle that each of the fingers is associated with certain set of organs, or certain set of emotion. Jin Shin Jyutsu balances the energy in our body improving its physical and emotional health, by holding and pressing the fingers.

Parts of this article are inaccurate and therefore misleading and a disservice to the art of Jin Shin Jyutsu (JSJ). JSJ does not teach to apply any amount of pressure. To the contrary, it is advised that a light touch is often the most effective. Neither does JSJ teach to massage in any form or manner. The application of JSJ is simply gentle touch. While the breath is an important ingredient of our energetic body, focusing on it is not a requirement in practice of the art. It may allow a person to be more in tune with their body and the subtle changes taking place, but those changes will occur regardless.
