Any advice I have little trust in doctors since C*vid , sad but true after my sh*tshow of a week!!😢

My son had what they called Baker Cysts when he was a child. They were big lumps behind his knees. They eventually went away on their own as he got older. We didn’t want to do surgery on them. Not sure if it happens to older people.

Sorry you feel that way about someone who chose to go to medical school to become qualified to practice medicine and found those blood clots. Happy your daughter is on the mend. She will likely have to be on blood thinners for a bit. I had the same issue and my doctor found the pulmonary embolism.

I had pulmonary embolism in both lungs. There is an excellent awareness and support group on Facebook called stop the clot and there is a pulmonary embolism support group. Great post clot fitness support and resources for both patient and family.
You don’t know they are unqualified just because they are strangers. If someone says they have a lump or a swollen bit in their leg, it’s not bad advice to say it could possibly be a deep vein thrombosis. The lady may not have considered this. If she were to wait a week to see her GP it could be fatal.

I’ve been dealing with a baker’s cyst behind my knee for a couple of years. It gets worse with physical activity like hiking or walking. X rays showed a little cartilage loss but only about 10%. I read that doctors just drain it but it can return. I found the Osmo patch which drains it naturally. Still comes returns tho. I’m now on my 5th remedy trial and so far so good….fingers crossed. I’m taking type II collagen which comes from chicken sternum. You might have a Baker’s Cyst. A fluid -filled swelling at the back of your leg. At the bent area. It will feel like a small ball. It causes pain in the knee and the calf. Glad your daughter was released from the hospital. Sending prayers and hugs to you both.

My brother-in-law had one, and he didn’t do anything about it, and it must have broken and affected his leg. It took quite a while, but he recovered from it. People think only ‘baker’s get this cyst, but it is sometimes caused by something hurting in the knee, and then it developes.

Omg this is what keep happening to me, I had told them for months, then when I was blue lighted into hospital I kept saying it until they did a ultrasound and guess what they found!!!! A massive blood clot behind my knee, 3 dvt’s in total and Iv been on medication for 3months now for this …. No care anymore, it’s all about ticking boxes and budgets! Don’t give up on all doctors because you have had a bad experience with one or two. It’s better to search out a new doctor that can solve your medical problem than to be angry at all doctors and die from your illness.
It’s called a bakers cyst. They can be drained, but they come back. If you just leave it they go away in about a week. I never had one drained.
You get them if you have knee trouble like bone on bone or meniscus problems.
May be a Bakers cyst, I’ve had one for years.
It becomes itchy and annoying at times but is otherwise harmless. BUT you need to get it checked in case it is something else.
Lori, Please have the lump looked at by your Dr. and by a surgeon. Five year ago i felt a lump on the inside of my knee. Hadn’t noticed it before, but it turned out to be a tumor and i was diagnosed with a rare cancer called synovial sarcoma starting a very difficult journey of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. I’m not trying to alarm you, but an innocent lump can turn out to be something serious. Better to find out what it is. Best of luck.🙏🏼
Probably DVT if it feels warm and calf is swollen. You need to go to A & E before it turns worse .

The warm or hotter water gets into your system faster. I put lemon in mine. If you have pain anywhere that’s from inflammation. The water on an empty stomach will start detoxing your body. You might only notice you have to pee more. Keep doing it daily 1st thing. One day you will notice your joints feel better, your skin looks better, your hair, your gums. I use to have a paper on what warm lemon water does for your body. I can’t find it anywhere. A ortho surgeon I worked for gave it to me. I have been squeezing half a lemon into a mug of warm water and drinking it on an empty stomach for about a year now. I don’t have a coffee or anything to eat for at least 15 minutes. I have lost weight generally, but more specifically around my mid section. My stomach issues including acid reflux have disappeared (but I have also stopped drinking red wine). Age spots on the back of my hands have faded to almost non existent and my skin is generally much better. I read about it on some website and decided to give it a try…….glad that I did.

True, water from a water heater is dirty. Sediments at the bottom of the heater will be in the water. Even cooking, I always use cold water and not hot from the heater. Once a year a attach a garden hose to the bottom of the heater and drain. You will see what I’m talking about. Even cold water should run a few seconds before placing it into a cup for drinking or cooking. Lead may be in the pipe fittings.

I too have horrible troubles with my digestive track … stage 4 cancer ilium with liver Mets, GERDS, over production of acid is the newest issue and has been absolutely aweful. I end up vomitting, diarrhea and passing out. Calling 911 for ambulance and off to ER. This happens several times a year. I am still recovering from my last trip and it’s miserable. Tea contains (in most cases) tannic acid, caffeine, and small amounts of various other chemicals. Why, if you are trying to detox your body, would you do it by introducing more HEATED chemicals into it when your stomach is empty. The whole point is to flush your system. Gm. This is great. i am and Indian and many Indians is this practice for years. It definitely benefits in digestive systems and detoxification. Important to follow it correctly. We follow below rules.
1. Brush your teeth and clean tongue very night. Reason is when we have water in the morning you should drink before brushing. Since mouth was cleaned and overnight engymes in the Saliva, it helps better when you drink water.
2. After drinking water, do not eat/drink anything for at least 30-45 min. This helps water to better for detoxification.
3. Do not take big water gulps. Sit down and take small sip and drink whole large glass in about 5-10 min.

Room temperature water is easier and the fastest way the water will get digested cold water is good as well except when severely over heated and dehydrated can pulling up your body in shock speaking from experience working as bricklayers laborer happened twice everything cramps almost seizure like also none stop vomiting so im guessing hot water might be to much in some situations I’d stick with room temperature hands down best way but ask your doctors because everyone reacts differently

So sorry to hear about that Sara. However, although it helps at keeping your health good, water is not a miracle cure. A person’s health depends on many other factors such as food, stress, genes etc.
This sounds fabulous & I plan on doing it also! I’m going to leave the lemon out though! I don’t think it sounds like a good thing for my teeth! I have actually seen the erosion on teeth that is caused by too much lemon. It’s not pretty. Thank you for this tip!
I agree that drinking warm water helps reduce aging and helps hair vitality. I drank warm water this morning 1st thing.
Guys it’s not cold water. It’s room temperature water. Reader think you are getting the water from the refrigerator.
I’ve drunk warm water & lemon juice every morning since I was a teenager & my. daughter has done the same. I’m a little slower now than I was but very few people guess my age correctly. I will celebrate my 96th birthday in 3 months & to celebrate, I’ll have an extra glass of warm water & lemon juice & look forward to 2027 !!
I drink nothing but water. Lately I’ve been feeling unwell so visited the doctor. He asked how much tea, coffee, alcohol I drink and was surprised to hear I drink only cold water. He asked how much I drink in a day. I told him around 5ltrs. The doctor said I was drinking far to much water and I was washing all the electrolytes out of my body and that was why I was feeling unwell. He told me to limit myself to two ltrs per day. I did what he advised and haven’t felt unwell since.

Well 5l is really too much if you are not spending the water (training intensely for a long period of time). And if you do need that much water it’s always recommended to include some extra electrolytes (especially potassium and sodium) and other minerals in your diet. The doctor was right about washing out the electrolytes.
I remember when I was a little girl my Great Grandmother would drink a warm/hot cup of water every morning. She lived to 98 years.

It’s pretty funny how the majority of everybody on this thread was only talking about the benefit of losing weight…. but bypassed the real reason we should be drinking warm water in the morning the other five items…. Lose weight stop eating processed food… 😎
