Have you ever wondered to what extreme can a person take their body ? Simply put, the achievements caught on tape, were once unimaginable. From pulling planes to lifting thousands of lbs in a single lift – these strongmen are among the strongest human beings on earth.
Some of you may feel disappointed in themselves after watching the videos. But you don’t need to feel that way. These people have trained their whole lives and invested everything they had into achieving this level of strength. And there’s the other part – genetics. Without the right genes, nobody can develop such strength.
Instead, use these videos as a motivational tool, rather than something that will crush your spirits. So sit back and enjoy watching the videos.
1. 400 lbs Dumbbell Bench Press for 12 Reps
Seeing somebody handle 400 pounds on the bench press is a pretty amazing sight. To be able to push 400 lbs is an impressive achievement by itself. But if this isn’t enough think about doing a whole set with 200 lb dumbbells.
And who else would be so strong if not the man himself – Ronnie Coleman, an eight-time Mr. Olympia and an ex powerlifter. So this isn’t some random guy at the gym that was able to pull this off.
Ronnie is also known for his 800lb deadlift and 800 lb squat. He’s considered by many to be the greatest bodybuilder of all time — so don’t try what Ronnie does at your gym, or you could get badly hurt.
2. Pinky Pull-Up World Record
How many pull ups can you do in a single set ? Many people starting bodybuilding and fitness consider this the hardest exercise (which is far from the truth).
In this video you’ll see Maibam Itomba Meitei as he sets the world record for the most consecutive pinky pull-ups. That’s right — pull-ups done with his pinkies.
At the age of 26, this guy managed to do 16 pull-ups, holding only with his pinky fingers. Meitei himself weights 112 pounds, or about 51 kgs. You may say he is light and that’s why he managed to break the record, but try holding something heavier with your pinkies and you’ll see how hard it is.
3. 900 Pound Squats – for REPS
Hitting a personal record for the squat is always a big deal. But it’s an especially big deal when that PR involves squatting 900 pounds a full five times, like in the video above.
The man seen is Derek Kendall, a former bodybuilder, a powerlifter and a 100 percent beast. The Internet is littered with videos of his lifts, and this 900 pound squat is merely one of them. There are even some of him putting up more than 1,000 pounds.
4. 1,140 Pound Deadlift
Squats are a bad-ass exercise, but nothing screams “power” like deadlifts. And when we are at deadlifts here is a video of Brian Shaw who broke a world (unofficial) record by deadlifting a mindblowing 1140 lbs barbell.
Brian Shaw (born February 26, 1982) is an American professional strongman competitor and winner of the 2011 World’s Strongest Man and 2013 World’s Strongest Man competitions.
5. Pulling a Boeing 767
Pulling a plane isn’t an easy feat by any stretch, but there are a handful of men who have been able to do it. There are videos of people pulling planes as big as a military transport C-130, but the heaviest plane pull of all time occurred in 2008 at Boeing Field in Seattle.
By pulling a 205,000 pound Boeing 767, Mark Kirsch set records for the heaviest plane pull in history. While not traditional fitness feat, or even a traditional lift of any kind, it’s hard to deny that Kirsch’s plane pull is impressive.
