Doctor Claims That You Can Stay Younger With Resistance Training and a Right Diet

Everyone wants to stay young. It’s a collective dream for all of us. And If we were all given a choice about how quickly or slowly we wanted to age, there is a good possibility that the majority of us would choose to stay literally younger for a longer period of time.

One doctor claims he has achieved this unattainable goal. He believes that by changing his diet he managed to make his body appear 20 years younger.

Dr. Mark Hyman, who is 63 years old and comes from Massachusetts, has changed his diet and saw massive improvement in his appearance. He believes that the natural aging process may be stopped or even reversed via proper nutrition. His recommendations and advice have not gone unnoticed and has made him ultra popular. He currently has over 2.5 million followers on Instagram.

He also wrote the book Young Forever, which is about ways to delay or prevent the effects of aging. He says that if you want to reverse aging the most major thing is the kind of food that you put into your body.

According to him, making the decision to switch to a diet that is predominantly composed of whole foods is what has allowed him to achieve the “best health of my life.”

Dr. Mark Hyman strictly adheres to a Pegan diet and has provided some details about  it.

The diet consists of seventy-five percent vegetables and fruits, with a specific emphasis placed on berries and meals that are low in starch.

There are certain foods that have a low glycemic index, and according to Healthline, some of these foods include cherries, oranges, dried apricots, grapefruit, pears, apples, plums, and peaches. Other foods that fall into this category include those that are low on the insulin index.

The doctor says that “approximately three-quarters of your plate should be covered in vegetables.” He also says that you should look for fresh fruits or in his words “aim for vivid colors,” when planning your diet.

In addition to this, he encouraged people to “load up” on nutritious sources of fat.

Healthy fats can be found in “whole foods” like nuts, seeds, olive oil, avocados, eggs from pasture-raised chickens, and small wild fatty fish like sardines, mackerel, herring, anchovies, and wild salmon. “Pasture-raised” eggs also contain healthy fats.

When it comes to oils, you should use organic extra virgin olive oil (when cooking at low heat or no heat at all), avocado oil (when cooking at greater heat), and organic virgin coconut oil.”

The doctor also advises people to eat nuts as a snack.

When it comes to meat, he suggested that the most important thing is to never consider it a main dish, and if you follow a plant-based diet, you should steer clear of processed powders and faux meats.

If you want your body to look 20 years younger like Dr. Hyman’s, the best way to exercise  is to concentrate on activities that build strength.

The doctor said  that “preserving muscle, growing muscle, and optimizing function are the secrets to the fountain of youth.”

He also stressed the need to perform resistance exercises three times a week, stating that this will have a significant influence not only on your body but also on your mind.

“Working out not only improves our memory but also makes us more intelligent, happier, and more resilient. According to a number of studies, rigorous exercise is an even more effective treatment for depression than the drug Prozac “ he claimed.

However, in addition to eating properly and getting regular exercise, which are both obvious recommendations for anyone who wants to enhance their health, the physician emphasized the significance of getting sufficient sleep, as this factor can have the greatest influence on the outward manifestations of aging.

According to his explanation, lack of sleep causes most of the markers of aging,” including inflammation, mitochondrial damage, and altered hormone and nutrient-sensing networks.

Therefore, the doctor, along with many other healthcare professionals, will tell you to “aim for eight hours of good quality sleep,” . If  you want to help yourself get that amount of sleep make sure you stick to a sleep schedule. Also avoid screens before bed, and create a peaceful, dark and quiet atmosphere in your room.

The last piece of advice for achieving a younger look is to reduce the amount of stress in your life and surround yourself with supportive people.

The doctor said that “the most powerful way to stay healthy and connect to your purpose is to be part of some type of community,” He advises people to join sport clubs, volunteer clubs and  book clubs because people who make meaningful connections with others tend to have longer lives.
