According to authorities, Alan Ritchson was involved in a startling confrontation that is currently being looked into.
After footage of the 43-year-old Reacher actor apparently engaging in a physical altercation with a neighbor in Tennessee leaked online, the event swiftly gained widespread attention.
The video, which TMZ was able to obtain, seems to show Ritchson punching a man many times until he falls to the ground while two kids on motorcycles, who are thought to be the actor’s sons, stand by. You may view the video below:
The problem did not appear out of nowhere, according to reports.
According to the victim, Ronnie Taylor, tensions had been rising the day before. He told TMZ that Ritchson was riding his green Kawasaki motorcycle through their neighborhood on Saturday at what he characterized as an excessive speed when the incident started.
Taylor said he reacted because the actor was “revving his engine and disturbing the peace.”
He acknowledged flipping Ritchson off, but he asserts that the gesture was reciprocated.
The following day is when things really got out of hand.
According to Taylor, Ritchson rode ahead of two kids riding their own bikes when he returned to the area on Sunday at around noon. He says that as soon as he confronted the actor, things got physical. Taylor believes that the confrontation began when he said, “Can you f***ing stop this please.” The accusations then escalate in severity.
Ritchson “punched him in the face and kicked him,” according to Taylor, before the two men started fighting. He added that when he was on the ground, Ritchson struck him “at least four times,” including blows to the back of his head.
Taylor reportedly had swelling and bruises from the incident, but he chose not to go to the hospital.
Ritchson is seen hitting the man on the video, which appears to show some of the altercation in broad daylight. He then picks up his helmet and tries to regain control of his motorcycle. The actor ultimately rides off, followed by the two children, after the bike veers across a lawn at one point.

However the story is probably not so black and white as the neighbor makes it out to be.
The now-viral incident between Reacher star Alan Ritchson and his neighbor has been further illuminated by recently released bodycam footage, which depicts a frantic, rapidly escalating confrontation that soon went out of hand.
The video, which TMZ was able to get and distribute, seems to depict the event from Ritchson’s point of view, providing a “blow-by-blow” description of how tensions erupted in a peaceful Tennessee neighborhood.
Reports state that as the actor and his kids were riding their motorcycles close by, neighbor Ronnie Taylor approached Ritchson, sparking the altercation.
In this video, Taylor tries to stop Ritchson in the middle of the road, which escalates the situation right away. In response, Ritchson puts down his bike and seems to shove Taylor to the ground in a violent altercation.
A furious Taylor starts yelling and accusing the actor of riding “like a f***ing lunatic” through a neighborhood full of kids.
Ritchson retaliates by slinging obscenities of his own, calling Taylor “f***ing insane,” and inquiring as to whether or not he has consumed alcohol.
It appears from the video that neither side gives up. Before returning to his motorcycle, Ritchson informs Taylor at one point that he ought to have “run him over.” The situation deteriorates when he increases the engine’s speed.
Then it looks like Taylor pushes Ritchson and his bike to the ground twice. At that point, the level of physicality starts to increase. In retaliation, Ritchson is seen telling Ronnie to “stay down” before seemingly launching into a string of blows.
The investigation into the event was terminated after authorities determined that Ritchson had acted in self-defense.
“Authorities decided that no criminal charges will be pursued after reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements,” Brentwood Police Captain Steven Pepin told the Hollywood Reporter.
Although a possible case of reckless endangerment was “considered,” Ritchson decided not to prosecute Taylor.
