7 Ways in Which Exercise Can Improve Your Relationship

Infidelity, as is widely attested, is the one of the main causes for ending a relationship or causing a host of marital problems. And it is widely reported to be a big temptation by both sexes. Even though one can never be 100% sure it won’t happen to him or her, it turns out that you can find a way to prevent it in the most unusual of places. You guessed it. The gym.

The gym has been proven to be one of the best places to decrease the likelihood of that happening to you. In this article, we present you seven ways in which you can use exercising as a tool to ensure that the relationship with your partner stays as strong as possible.

1. Exercising diminishes stress

Stress may very well be the biggest cause to all of your life’s problems. The list of problems is endless. One of the many things stress causes are lowered testosterone levels, greater accumulation of fat and an increase in the production of cortisol, otherwise known as the ‘stress hormone’ or the ‘anti-testosterone’ hormone which decreases any type of dominance or confidence you might exude in any aspect of your relationship.

Increased cortisol levels actually enable other people to more easily push you around and harder for your partner to have respect for you. We all have our ups and downs, but experiencing chronic stress for prolonged periods will slowly creep in into the relationship and make you less attractive. With exercising, your stress levels start to decrease as well as the bad chemicals associated with it. It’s not without a reason that every American president is put on a hard training regimen when assuming office. The stress the job entails would literally burn them out in less than 2 weeks if they didn’t exercise.

2. It makes you look better

The excuses the cheating partner comes up with are numerous but it has been shown that the most common is how they started resenting their partner’s looks or how much they have “let themselves go”. It is the responsibility of both partners to take care of their bodies so that they can always be sexy to each other and keep the flame in the relationship. Exercise, as we all know, is the best way to do it. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to have a physique competitor’s body with a six-pack, although those wouldn’t hurt.

It simply means that you need to keep yourself in shape by exercising frequently, cutting the excess fat and trim your waistline. We often hear of someone being proud of their partner taking care of themselves especially when that someone is over 40 years old. The older you get, the threshold for what “fit’ means is getting lower and lower. Regardless of age, you can reach the peak of physical attractiveness only by exercising.

3. It increases testosterone levels

Countless studies have been made proving how regular daily exercise increases testosterone levels. This goes double if you are doing the big compound movements that involve multiple muscle groups like deadlifts, squats, bench presses and overhead presses. Logically it follows that by exercising you stimulate the release of these hormones inside the body which will make you stronger, tougher, bigger and more confident. Not to mention the increased libido.

Men’s performance in the bed will skyrocket once these hormones start flowing through your body’s systems. And if pleasuring your partner sexually is one of the top priorities in your relationships, then exercising is the right tool for you.
