Russian Powerlifter, Andrey Malanichev sets new world record with 1047 lbs squat

Andrey Malanichev (born January 10, 1977, in the village-the sanatorium Barvikha (Moscow region) – Honoured Master of Sports of Russia on powerlifting, champion of Russia, Europe, world, four-time winner of the Cup of the Titans.

He owns the world record for the raw squat( 1036 lbs – 470 kg), and on Dec. 5 at the WRPF World Powerlifting championship in Moscow he smashed his own record by tacking on an extra 11 lbs(5 kg).

Malanichev also crushed his old numbers for the entire powerlifting raw category (which includes the bench press, deadlift, and squat). He hit 882 lbs(400 kg) in the deadlift and 573 lbs(260 kg) in the bench, making his combined total a new all-time world record total of 2502.2 lbs.
