Believe it or not, your success at trimming that excess body fat and adding some decent muscle size depends on your choice of gym as much as it depends on your choice of exercises. High-priced, luxurious gyms come with a different set of benefits compared to more traditional, local ones, and you should put in some effort to find the gym that works best with your goals.

 

However, there are some very lousy gyms out there that fail at providing the very basics for their members, as we’re sure you’ve already noticed, and some of them are not so easy to spot.   1. The equipment sucks

If every piece of equipment in the gym is old and worn out, exercising there could be a risky venture even for the most vigilant gym rat. Any decent gym has to invest in repairing or replacing damaged equipment in order to protect its members from catastrophic injuries. No matter how cheap a gym is, if the equipment is scarce, outdated and frequently out of order, it’s just not worth it. After all, you’re paying a gym membership to get something you can’t have in your own basement and you’re also counting on it to be 100% safe for use.

 

  1. The staff sucks

If the staff is inexperienced, indifferent or just plain rude, nothing great can come out of that place. The last thing you want to experience while working your a*s off is a bunch of douchebags constantly hitting you with unconstructive criticism and eye-rolls, no matter how ripped they look.
