Weight loss can be a tiresome process, but current research has shown that by drinking hot water you could speed up the process. It can lower the number of calories you consume on a daily basis, and nutritionists believe it could also boost the metabolism. As any with any weight loss tip, you shouldn’t base all of your weight loss efforts on that tip alone. Burning fat requires you to eat fewer calories and increase physical activity.
Water and its effect on weight loss
One study discovered that increasing the participants’ daily water intake helped them lose weight even though they didn’t follow any diet or training regimen. Consuming water, before meals, in particular, could help weight loss by filling up your stomach and making you feel fuller, which in turn will make you eat less. There has been a theory going on that increasing your water consumption can give a great boost to the metabolism. So far, no firm evidence has been put forward to support this theory, though.
Sipping on hot water
Taking small sips of a cup of hot water can aid with weight loss and burn more fat in a different, more spiritual or mindful manner if you like. The logic behind this is that when on a fat loss diet, you should generally slow down and become more aware of the things you are eating.
For example, it would take you a lot of time to drink an entire cup of hot water by sipping alone, as opposed to instantly drinking a cup of cold water. This will actually make you slow down and be more aware of the hunger.
Daily dose of water
Taking sips is helpful in not only speeding up the weight loss process but in keeping you hydrated as well. Your needs for water can vary greatly which depends on the types of food that you eat, overall health and physical activity, but it is a fact that most of the adults require 7 to 11 cups of water per day in order to keep the balance of fluids in your body. Keeping yourself hydrated helps greatly in controlling your hunger.
Training regimen and diet
As we previously said, drinking hot water alone will not get you the desired results. In order to start losing weight, you need to consume fewer calories than you expend, increasing the burning of calories by increasing your physical activity or you could combine both strategies. You wouldn’t want to lose too much fat, too fast.
You should try losing it at a slower rate of approximately 1 to 2 lbs per week. You should always take into consideration the losing weight too fast doesn’t mean you’re losing fat, it means losing muscle and water.
