“To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family,” they added. “He lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. He was hospitalized shortly after his 86th birthday. Just a few days after turning 86, he shared a video of himself sparring with a trainer, which serves as a reminder of the vigor and self-control that characterized his life.
Norris established himself as a world-champion martial artist with numerous black belts before going into Hollywood.
While stationed in South Korea after serving in the US Air Force, Norris learned martial arts, which would eventually change his life. One of the most prominent careers in the history of combat sports ensued.
After winning the National Karate Championships in 1966, he went on to capture the world middleweight title the following year, the first of six world titles he would go on to win.
He was an unbeaten full-contact middleweight champion and an exceptional black belt in karate, taekwondo, jiu-jitsu, and judo by the time he stopped competing in 1974.
His breakthrough performance in The Way of the Dragon in 1972, which is still regarded as one of the most memorable combat scenes in movie history, came about as a result of his friendship with Bruce Lee.

He was also an internet legend. One among the original memes. Because you didn’t even need his image, he was particularly effective during the early lo-fi era of the internet.
A common cultural understanding of the man was all that was required. We had all long since come to terms with the fact that he was the definition of a badass. Naturally, these jokes made some sort of sense.
“Chuck Norris doesn’t read books. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants.”
“Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris.”
“Chuck Norris breathes air…five times a day.”
“The flu gets a Chuck Norris shot every year.”
“In the Beginning there was nothing…then Chuck Norris roundhouse kicked nothing and told it to get a job.”
“There is no chin behind Chuck Norris’ beard. There is only another fist.”
“On the 7th day, God rested…Chuck Norris took over.”
Despite the humor, discipline, faith, and self-improvement remained the cornerstones of his legacy. But family was at the heart of it all.

Rest in Peace Chuck !
