Super Easy High Protein Strawberry Ice Cream Recipe

Want to know how to break a sugar or junk food addiction? Don’t attempt to quit abruptly. Replace it with something equally tasty but more nutrient-dense. Removal is more difficult than replacement.

So If you enjoy eating ice cream, you’ll love this simple high-protein strawberry ice cream.

Since reducing added sugar completely, this treat has been one of my go-tos when I get a sugar craving. It is a perfect substitute for a high-sugar ice cream if you’re searching for something healthier.

this is quite similar to actual ice cream, particularly if casein protein is used. A touch less rich because of the low fat percentage, but still deliciously sweet. It’s thick (it doesn’t even pour; you eat it with a spoon), it’s really cold, and it tastes fantastic while being nearly fat-free.

Ingredients you’ll need:

– Handful (about 70-80g) of frozen strawberries
– 1 scoop of vanilla casein protein (whey will work as well)
– About 1/3 cup of full fat milk (low fat milk will do as well as well as almond milk)
– Optional: 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon or cocoa

How to make it

1. Put your frozen strawberries in the food processor. This ice cream should be made in a food processor or a blender that has the power to blend frozen fruits. The strawberries need to be frozen, otherwise you’ll just get a thick milkshake.

2. Add your scoop of vanilla protein powder. Whey protein will do the job, but if you want the ice cream to be more creamy you should add casein instead of whey. I used a scoop of whey here, so the ice cream came out a bit “softer”.

3. This is the tricky part. You need to add just enough milk so that the food processor can process the strawberries, but not too much, because you’ll just get a milk shake. You can use full fat milk, low fat milk or if you prefer you can use almond milk.

I also like to add 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon or cocoa to improve the taste, but this is optional.

4. Let it blend on high speed until you get a thick creamy texture.

And there you go, the ice cream is done. Enjoy your high-protein low calorie treat.
